Well again its all about the timing, I was just chatting away on the phone and just looked out the back door and there he was all majestic. Just sitting, waiting for me to take his picture. So I grabbed my camera off the table and started shooting. What is they say? Right Place Right Time! Doesn’t always happen, but it is nice when it does. Sometimes you have to wait for the moment. But sometimes it just falls into your lap like this time. I have tried to catch these birds in the country. But they usually take off before I can get close enough to get a good shot. I could not believe that he landed only 25 feet in a tree from my back door. And stayed and let me get 15 feet from him under my patio awning to take this shot. With the sun setting lighting him up just perfectly from the side. Thank you Mr. Hawk.

Use The Tripod
Took this on one of my trips to Seattle, Washington. You never know what you will find when you decide to go for a leisurely hike. My tip for you here is to take along a Tripod. Sometimes it is just not possible if it is breezy to get a clear image by hand holding the camera. Seeing as the breeze will have a tendency to move you. Use a small tripod on a rock or even use a post or tree to set the camera on to stabilize it helps a lot.
Enjoy your hikes and keep yours eyes and ears open. “The sounds, you hear can lead you to something you can t see…”

Walton Lighthouse, Santa Cruz CA. It is all about the timing.
This was taken in Santa Cruz, CA, of Walton Lighthouse. It is one of my favorite images. It took over 100 images and a few hours hanging out, trying to get just that right second. Capturing the waves breaking on the rocks. Takes a lot of patience to wait it out for just the right timing with the tides and waves.
If you like seascapes, visit the Seascapes Gallery and use the promo code First20 to get your favorite print at 20% off the first print size of your choice.
Waterfall Tip
Ever wonder how to get those differences in the water?
What you need to do to get this effect is to step down the shutter speed.
Set it to a longer/slower shutter setting and preferably use a tripod.
